Experiment Beauty Review

This sounds silly, but I feel like I am maybe just a little bit clairvoyant when it comes to moisturizer. Really now, I wish I could apply this possible clairvoyance to another area of my life, but it seems like moisturizer is the one area where I can predict what’s going to be big.

Why do you ask? I was one of the first to fall in love with Augustinus Bader when it launched (before it was even at Violet Grey). And then INN Beauty’s Rich Cream. The next big thing? Experiment Beauty. You have to try this brand! In June, I wrote on Substack that we’d be seeing them everywhere soon, and boom: looky look, they’ve just launched at Sephora. This brand is excellent, especially for those of you with dry skin. And the products are . . . highly inexpensive for what they are.

Experiment beauty review

So far, I’ve tried three products (and really like them all). Here are my thoughts!

Plasma Wash

This is an ultra-creamy face wash that almost feels bouncy? It’s super soothing, and the consistency feels really good. The only other cleanser I have to compare it to is U Beauty’s Mantle cleanser. If you gave them to me to try blind, I don’t think I would be able to tell them apart. And the best part? This one is a quarter of the price. Highly recommend if you are looking for a gentle, creamy cleanser that takes off all your makeup without stripping the skin. Get it on the brand’s website or at Sephora.

Super Saturated

This is the brand’s signature item, and it is fabulous. Any time my skin feels parched, I’ll apply this under my moisturizer, and it is like it brings my skin back to life. This is thanks to Polyglutamic Acid and 30% glycerin. It is not an anti-aging serum, but it is one of the best hydrators I’ve tried. Makes skin so plump and dewy. You can also use it like a mask. Also: $28! And they sell refills! Get it on the brand’s website or at Sephora

Molecular Mesh

This is a great basic moisturizer aimed at restoring the skin’s barrier. Again, it does not have any fancy anti-aging ingredients like Bader or U Beauty but it will hydrate just as well as those moisturizers. I would compare it to Rhode’s Barrier Restore Cream, which is a very similar price. Get it on the brand’s website or at Sephora
