My Favorite White Dresses – The Stripe

When I saw this white dress from The Great, it was an immediate add to cart situation. I’ve always had a soft spot for a good white dress—partly because I love bold, colorful accessories and a white dress is the perfect canvas to let them shine. This one in particular is so fun and easy to wear. It does come with a belt, but I think it’s better without. Let it flow! It runs true to size; I wear the 2, which is a medium.

My favorite white dresses

A white dress is kind of like the summer version of jeans: endlessly versatile, always in style, and open to interpretation. It’s a blank canvas in the best way. You can keep it super simple—think flat sandals and a straw tote for weekend errands or beach days . . . or, you can pile on the color: a stack of beaded necklaces, a bright lip, maybe even a wedge heel if you’re feeling fancy. Choose your own adventure.

I’ve amassed quite the collection over the years (they’re just so easy!), and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. Lately, I’ve been drawn to styles that lean into the nightgown aesthetic—floaty, romantic, a little bit undone. This one from Posse has been on heavy rotation, and so has this (actual) nightgown from Hill House, which I wear both at home and out and about. Yes, we are definitely in our Nightgown Era™.

Whether you go tailored and structured or loose and breezy, there’s something about a white dress that just feels right in the summer. Fresh, easy, and effortlessly pulled-together.
