Must-See Chicago Concerts and Comedy Shows in February

February in Chicago is ice cold, but the concert calendar is red hot as a slew of talented musicians, singers, DJs, and comedians have highly anticipated performances happening throughout the month. Below you will find a selection of Rebellious Magazine favorites, who you won’t want to miss, coming through Chicago in the month of February.

Jorja Smith – The Auditorium Theatre Feb. 26

British R&B vocalist Jorja Smith loves to experiment with different sounds. From sultry and smooth, to bluesy and soulful, Smith can capture the essence of any song with her versatile vocals. Never one to be boxed in, she even released a “Reimagined” version of her 2023 album, Falling or Flying, last year, so be prepared to become transfixed by surprising arrangements of her popular songs when she takes the stage at The Auditorium Theatre on Feb. 26.

Lauren Mayberry – Thalia Hall Feb. 5

Last year, Lauren Mayberry, of Chvrches fame, released her debut solo studio album, Vicious Creature. She is set to play sparkly songs from the synth-pop release and more when she stops by Thalia Hall on Feb. 5, with Cult Of Venus opening.

The Kates – The Lincoln Lodge Feb. 7

The Kates

The Kates, a Chicago comedy showcase that celebrates “fem energy, humor and rebellious spirits,” is returning after a four-year hiatus. Led by producers Kelsie Huff and Amy Sumpter, this show – which also features a stellar lineup including Kaitlyn Braswell, Jen Bosworth-Ramirez, LT PHD, and Sam Rocha – is a must-see for fans of effervescent, infectious, and innovative comedy. Don’t miss the show at The Lincoln Lodge on Feb. 7.

Phantogram – Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom Feb. 14

If you are looking for a night to remember this Valentine’s Day, consider checking out Phantogram’s sure-to-be amazing set at the Aragon on Feb. 14. The duo – comprised of Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter – are known for their hard-hitting beats and irresistible melodies. Expect to hear songs from their stellar 2024 release, Memory of a Day, along with fan favorites from their entire career.

Taylor Tomlinson – Chicago Theatre Feb. 12 – 15

After Midnight host Taylor Tomlinson is one of the buzziest, funniest comedians currently on tour. On the heals of her hilarious 2024 Netflix special, Have it All – which debuted at #1 – Tomlinson is bringing her Save Me Tour to the Chicago Theatre for five shows across four nights on Feb. 12 – 15.

Also this month, Lucy Dacus will be performing at The Murphy Auditorium at Driehaus Museum (50 E Erie Street) on Feb. 20 and electronic legend Miss Kittin will be performing at Smartbar with Shaun J. Wright on Feb. 8. And if you’re looking for more laughter Big Black Comedy – a “stand-up show dedicated to spotlighting Black comedians of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds” – is taking place at The Den Theatre on Feb. 28.

February may be a short month, but it is jam-packed with exciting performances!
