Friday Treat: Oversize Cos Cashmere
[unpaid/affiliate] I’ve still got a black Cos sweater that I bought years ago that I like to pull out on a day where I just want to feel cosy. It’s full of badly sewn up holes but I can’t bear to get rid of it. What I love about Cos sweaters is their shape – Cos does boxy better than anyone does boxy and it’s a style that looks sharp and purposeful as well as cosy and comfortable. Boxy that hits the bum is absolutely my choice – I love the way that a boxy sweater looks so effortless – you could have just rolled out of bed or you could have just come out of a board meeting. Either way, it’s a foolproof style that fits special day or every day.
Bearing in mind that the Cos Chunky Crew is oversize cashmere, £225 doesn’t seem unreasonable for it. I have a pair of black waxed jeans that always look great with oversize anything so those would be my perfect partners but as I say, wear it over your suit trousers or over your pjs – anything goes. However, the sheen of the wax – or faux leather (some good ones HERE from M&S – I have the silver) is a good contrast to the soft texture of the sweater. The sweater is aptly named – these are chunky, chunky jumpers – if you’re in full hot flush mode, clear these straight off your list but if you are perpetually chilly, wow – good times ahead!
My default shade would always be black because I am a sucker for a white shirt and black jumper but I am leaning quite hard towards the pink because it’s very complexion flattering, particularly when the current light is draining every last drop of life out of my face!
I did a quick try-on at Cos in Regent Street – made the big mistake of trying another style on…
…and then got totally inside my own head and couldn’t decide so I left with neither. This is today’s dilemma – which one? Sometimes you just have to park a decision until it filters through on its own. You can find the Cos Chunky Pure Cashmere Crew Neck Jumper for £225 HERE in sizes XS to L (and comments on the Cos site indicates it comes up large) and the Turtleneck is £250 HERE. Basically, that collar is costing £25 more :-).
