Sky Q and Sky Glass viewers can now contact Saint Nick from the sofa. Sky has quietly released an update with festive cheers, which is now available for you to try out. For those with a Sky Q box, you’ll need a Sky Q voice remote to try out any of these Christmas tricks, while those with the flashy new Sky Glass can try any of these new features by using the “Hello” alarm phrase, Sky “to trigger the hands-free microphones.

Whether you’re holding down the dedicated microphone button on your remote control or using the hands-free functionality built into the 4K TV, there are a number of new voice commands to try out this Christmas. First of all, Sky has programmed a number of Christmas cracker-worthy gags into its software. When you use the voice command, “Santa, tell me a joke”, you will be presented with a random joke.

We’re not going to spoil any of the jokes, but if you’re looking for a giggle, it’s well worth a try.

With the latest update, Sky Q and Sky Glass viewers can find out whether they are waiting for presents under the Christmas tree or whether they can expect a few miserable lumps of coal. With the voice commands “Santa, was I nice?” or “Santa, was I naughty?”, Santa Claus can tell you what to expect on Christmas Day.
