Your PC can now run Home windows 11 in any case, Microsoft teases specification change

Microsoft previously said that Windows 11 requires at least an 8th generation Intel Core processor or AMD Ryzen 2000.

In short, if your PC shipped before 2017, it is unlikely that you will be able to upgrade to Windows 11.

The Redmond-based tech giant said recently released chips are required for Windows 11 because the operating system is best suited to newer hardware.

However, the news sparked a lot of user reaction as many Windows 10 users wanted to miss out on the Windows 11 upgrade – unless they upgraded their PC.

But less than a week after Windows 11 was released, Microsoft opened the door to lower the minimum specs required.
