Euro 2020 kicked off last Friday, and if you’ve sat in front of your TV every game, the Amazon Echo smart speakers are now the perfect companion. Just in time for the international tournament, Amazon has started rolling out a new Alexa update that will help football fans follow Euro 2020.
The latest Alexa update ensures you don’t miss a game as you can now ask the Amazon-developed voice assistant that plays every day for the latest information on Euro 2020 games.
Alexa can also help you set up reminders and receive a five-minute notification before a game starts. Owners of Echo speakers and other Alexa-powered devices can simply ask, “Alexa, what’s the latest EM update?” to get the latest news from the tournament.
Or, for a quick update of the scores, you can ask, “Alexa, what’s the England and Scotland scores?” at the big game this Friday.
You can also ask Alexa who she thinks will be crowned 2020 European Champion at Wembley next month. And if you want to pass the time until the next game, you can ask Alexa to tell you a joke or take a quiz.

The news comes after another Alexa partnership was announced for Euro 2020. Iconic footie commentator Clive Tyldesley leaned his voice on Amazon’s voice assistant and provided answers to 25 unique questions.
The ITV commentator will provide answers to questions about the home nations and their group games.
The veteran broadcaster has lent its voice to Alexa as part of a partnership with Toshiba, but its responses can be heard on all Alexa devices.
Commenting on the opportunity, Tyldesley said, “As someone who will be part of this TV coverage, it is fantastic to be working with Toshiba to give all fans the opportunity to find and discuss the facts and figures we all need to know to really enjoy the show. “
