If you can’t access Xbox Live tonight, you are not alone. The popular online service seems to be in big trouble tonight with thousands of fans unable to access the online platform. The issues seem to have started around 9pm with the ongoing issues.
Microsoft has just confirmed the outage with the company’s status page, which shows important issues. A server status post said, “You may not be able to sign in to your Xbox profile.”
And that’s not all, as there are also issues with cloud games, multiplayer games, and store and subscriptions.
Here is the full list of issues:
Account and Profile: You might not be able to sign in to your Xbox profile while disconnecting or having other problems while signing in. Sign-in features, such as most games, apps, and social activities, are not available.
Cloud gaming: You may have trouble launching cloud games or you may be unexpectedly disconnected from a game after launch.
Multiplayer games: You may have problems playing multiplayer games or finding other players.
Business and Subscriptions: You may not currently be able to purchase your own games.
Even before Microsoft announced that its servers were suffering from the failure of the Down Detector, which tracks outages and issues with online services through mentions on social media, there was a huge surge in complaints about Xbox Live. At its peak, around 12,000 users alone expressed concerns about the gaming platform.
It’s unclear how long it will take the Gremlins to fix the problem, but Xbox Live users are certainly not happy.
Speaking on Twitter, one user said, “@XboxSupport is bringing it together, no reason Xbox Live should be down!”
While another said, “Of course, when I finally got some game time, Xbox Live would be down.”
And a disappointed Xbox fan tweeted, “Sweeeeeet Xbox live is down! Anddddd I didn’t update Fortnite on my PS5! My life turned into chaos almost instantly!”
It seems that those who are not yet signed into their Xbox are hardest hit by today’s glitch. Anyone who tries to turn on their consoles and play games will receive an error message restricting access to certain services and apps.
Hopefully it’s just a minor bug and Xbox Live services will be back to normal shortly.
