Versace’s Fall 2021 catwalk stars Gigi Hadid for the primary time since changing into a mom

Versace always uses the most influential models for its ready-to-wear shows. The legendary Italian house opened its fall / winter 2021 season with a film starring Irina Shayk, Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid, who is back on the catwalk for the first time since her mother. The new collection is confident and slightly rebellious, with the brand’s iconic Greca motif, subtle graffiti details and a smaller, rounded silhouette for womenswear in the foreground.

“I realized that this is the future, the new way of communicating collections,” said Donatella Versace in a press release about the industry’s move towards digital fashion weeks. “Models are like actors, they bring the designs to life, just like when an actor portrays a character. While filming this show, I saw the importance of giving the models time to see the clothes they are on Carrying the catwalk to “feel” Although I live in a digital age of immediacy, it is crucial to take this time to make a real connection. This is what the present and the future look like to me. “

Versace’s approach to color for Fall / Winter 2021 has been bold and refreshing. The brand contrasted a basic palette of black and brown with neon red, yellow, blue, and fuchsia. We also loved Versace’s new approach to logo pieces by reintroducing the brand’s Greca motif in a minimal, infinite design that was featured in most pieces of the collection.

Versace often shines brightest when it comes to accessories, and we look forward to getting our hands on the house’s new opera gloves, hair accessories, and textured mini-bags that feature the updated Greca logo. And while the curve model Precious Lee’s return to Versace is a wonderful sight, it would have been impressive if the brand had used this season to add even more body variety to their coveted catwalk.
