Thousands and thousands of BT clients had been providing very inexpensive broadband at this time as the brand new plan hits the market at this time

Commenting on the new plans, Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s Consumer Division said: “Fast, reliable connectivity has never been more important than it is today, as millions of people rely on our networks to get back on their feet after the pandemic.

“We want to help as many people as possible, which is why we will be introducing BT Home Essentials at the end of June, thereby increasing the eligibility of our social tariff for all customers with Universal Credit.

“BT Home Essentials will be available at half the price of our standard fiber package, helping potential four million low-income households cut bills and stay connected to critical online services.”
