Amazon will begin shipping its redesigned Echo Show 10 on February 25, 2021. For those who missed the first announcement last September, Amazon completely redesigned the design of its smart display with a touchscreen that users can interact with with the Alexa digital assistant and display a slideshow of photos.
While the new Echo Show maintains the same 10-inch screen size as previous models, it now has a significantly slimmer frame and uses recycled materials, with the aluminum and fabric in the design being 100 percent from recycled sources. The main feature of this new model, however, is the motorized swivel system that allows the display to reposition itself automatically so that it always points towards you when you call the AI assistant Alexa.
Amazon says it worked hard to make sure its motorized arm is completely silent so you don’t have to hear a buzz while moving. Rest assured, the Echo Show 10 doesn’t randomly choose to peek around your room on a whim. Instead, this happens when you talk to Alexa. Amazon is already using a more rudimentary version of this technology with its smart speakers that use LEDs to highlight the direction your voice is coming from. So you can tell if your voice has been correctly identified or mistaken for someone else in another part of the room.
With the usual wake-up word “Alexa …” to call the assistant, the touchscreen display is swiveled so that you are always in the right position for a quick look at your timer, the latest weather report or the episode of The Grand Tour throw stream from Prime Video. This panning system also ensures that you stay in the picture during a video call – relatives no longer have to cranks to see you disappear while making pottery around the house.

Echo Show 10 starts at £ 239.99 and will be available in Charcoal and Glacier White.
It can be pre-ordered now, but, as mentioned above, it won’t land on your doorstep until February 25, 2021.
