Last year I had to do a serious inventory of my shoe collection. With nowhere to go, I had to think about which pairs I would actually wear when the world opened up again. During this time I discovered a huge gaping hole in my collection: sandals, more precisely slingback sandals. I didn’t own one, although I had a ton of different options saved on my phone.
I’m not a big sandal wearer, but I have a special place in my heart for slingbacks. Unlike traditional mules, these reliable models come with a strap across the top of the foot to keep it in place and in the shoe all day. Plus, there are so many different styles to choose from, including sleek strappy versions from brands like Reike Nen and chunkier flat versions from Birkenstock. This sandal trend honestly checks all of my boxes – simple, chic, and versatile.
But I’m definitely not going to be without my white sneakers or booties this summer. I’m just making some space for a few types of shoes that are a little warmer.
