This 50-inch 4K TV is ridiculously low cost on ASDA, because the Black Friday offers present

This year has been quite extraordinary in a number of ways. The fact that ASDA, like every year, has cut the cost of a 50-inch smart TV for Black Friday is extremely comforting. Yes, the retailer cut the cost of an Ultra HD compatible flat panel display to mark the start of its annual Black Friday sale. If you want to recreate the big screen experience at home without breaking the bank, this is a great option.

ASDA charges just £ 269 for a 50-inch Smart TV with an Ultra HD (4K) panel and support for HDR (High Dynamic Range). Yes, you read that right.

This 50-inch 4K glasses box typically costs 329 euros and has Wi-Fi support. So you don’t have to worry about plugging in a Chromecast or Fire TV stick to stream the latest episodes of your favorite box set on Netflix or Prime Video on TV. It also has two USB ports for charging or presenting a slideshow of your family pictures on the big screen and three HDMI 2.0 ports.

Developed by Polaroid, the set has a slew of smart features you’d expect from higher-priced 4K tellies, including built-in Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube apps. In fact, there’s even a shortcut to the Netflix app on the remote so you don’t have to waste time jumping to the next episode on your The Crown binge watch.

Freeview Play is also supported out of the box, so you can get around 70 live channels, 15 HD (high definition) channels and seven on-demand catch-up apps. In addition, Freeview offers seven days of catch-up time on the TV Guide, so you can scroll backwards to travel back in time and see what you’ve missed – without having to worry about loading the right app to find the show you missed it.

When you use Freeview Play, the service makes suggestions for new shows or movies that it thinks you will enjoy based on your previous viewing habits. These recommendations come from the on-demand players displayed by genre.

With its LED backlight, the Polaroid TV promises to be bright and colorful whether you’re watching Good Morning Britain or Strictly Come Dancing. HDR is designed to make the picture clearer when the light on the screen is extremely contrasting, such as B. a bright phone screen illuminated in the darkness of a cave. Sky Q added support for HDR earlier this year. Sky Cinema and Sky Sports will be updated to support the new format in the coming months. With 4K and HDR support built in, this 50-inch TV is pretty future-proof.

If you want to pick up the Polaroid TV, it is only available in-store from ASDA. Fortunately, you don’t have to wait until Black Friday, which takes place on November 27th this year.

The discounted Polaroid TV will be available from Monday November 16 at this ridiculously low price.

For comparison, last year ASDA sold a 49-inch Polaroid TV for £ 229 as part of its Black Friday deal. However, the TV wasn’t compatible with either Ultra HD or HDR – which shows how far things have come in the last year. And how much more bang for your buck if you’ve managed to upgrade your TV in the last 12 months since the last Black Friday bonanza.
