If you’ve been thinking about getting a new pair of AirPods or Beats wireless headphones for a while, there’s never been a better time to pull the shutter. Apple has confirmed that it will give anyone who adds a pair of these earbuds or headphones to their cart a six-month subscription to its Apple Music service for free.
Apple Music provides access to 75 million songs, curated playlists by a team of editors, music videos and live radio broadcasts from Zane Lowe, Elton John and Fatboy Slim. Apple’s subscription service recently added support for Spatial Audio, which offers a wider soundscape for select headphones and lossless audio.
The only catch is, you can’t already be an Apple Music subscriber – out of luck if you were hoping to drop your monthly bills for the next six months by purchasing new headphones. But those who have never used the service can stream unlimited tracks, radio and music videos for six months without spending a cent.
With the upcoming SharePlay, which will be rolled out to iPhone and iPad owners in the coming months, Apple will allow Apple Music users to sync their songs from anywhere in the world. When combined with a FaceTime video call, you can listen to new albums with friends and family, stream your favorite songs, and more.
The following Apple-owned AirPods and Beats are eligible for the six-month Apple Music offer:
- AirPods (second generation)
- AirPods Max
- AirPods Pro
- Beats Powerbeats
- Beats Powerbeats Pro
- Beats Studio Buds
- Beats Solo Pro
