The Currys PC World website is having a tough day as there is a rush of gamers rushing to buy the new PS5 console. The UK retailer has already confirmed today that more PlayStation 5 stock will be available today, and that news seems to have put additional strain on its website.
The first failure occurred at 8:30 a.m. today, followed by another problem this afternoon at 1:40 p.m.
The website now appears to be up and running again, although some customers have received a message that the website is “down for maintenance”.
Others receive a message that curries are “waaaaay more traffic common” and “hold on!”
PS5 fans have complained about the issues on social media, saying in a tweet: “Was seconds away from getting to a PS5 on Curry’s but website 503 kicked me out. Open a fresh bottle of Cham-Pain . ” . “
It’s worth noting that even though Currys had limited PS5 inventory, the company’s latest updates state that all consoles are now sold out. In a message to the fans, the dealer said: “We have SOLD OUT the PS5. Please keep an eye on our website for new console updates.”
The PlayStation 5 is still incredibly hard to find as most retailers have limited stocks that sell out the moment they appear online.
There’s no word on when the next update will be released, although there are plenty of rumors suggesting that more stocks will be available before the end of the month.
Although the PS5 is selling out quickly at Currys, a Twitter account with stock tracking suggests that more units may become available later.
This is because the retailer could cancel suspicious orders from bots, which is becoming a growing problem for fans and retailers alike.
If you’re struggling to get your hands on a PS5, bookmark the Stock Informer website and follow social media channels like Digital Foundry Deals.
At some retailers, customers can register their interest in the PS5. This should result in warnings as soon as the consoles are available.
