TalkTalk works with Amazon to extend your web pace

TalkTalk hopes to improve your broadband through a new partnership with Amazon. That might sound like a very strange combination as Amazon is famous for online shopping and it doesn’t make the internet speed in your home any faster.

However, the retailer owns a product aimed solely at boosting broadband, and TalkTalk is making it available to all who sign up for their plans. The award-winning eero 6 and eero Pro 6 mesh routers are now being sent to users by default and they should make sure that every inch of your home is getting a strong connection.

If you didn’t already know, a mesh network allows you to place additional boosters in your home that will then improve the signal.

In addition to this internet beaming technology, eero also offers a dedicated mobile app that enables easy setup, network management and troubleshooting, and gives customers more control and transparency over the performance of their home network.

There are also advanced parental controls that customers can use to easily block websites for family-safe browsing, streaming, and social media use.

If you have multiple smart devices, the built-in Zigbee technology ensures everything works smoothly without the need for a separate hub.

If you own a mansion, you can add additional eero units, all of which are connected to ensure that every room is covered by a signal.

Speaking of the new offering, Tristia Harrison, CEO of TalkTalk said: “We are always committed to bringing our customers the latest technology, superior speeds and reliable performance at an affordable price. Coupled with our ambitious and accelerated full fiber rollout, our new relationship with Amazon’s eero is helping make next-generation home WiFi a reality. As the first major ISP in the UK to offer eero to our customers, we are excited to be at the forefront of making the UK’s leading fiber optic and Wi-Fi technology affordable for everyone. “

As part of a phased rollout, the eero 6 will be included as the standard mesh router for customers of TalkTalk’s Future Fiber 150 plan and eero Pro 6 for Future Fiber 500 customers.

Customers will also benefit from speeds up to 1 Gb supported by the eero Pro 6 when TalkTalk launches Gigabit-enabled Future Fiber this fall.

For customers who need additional coverage, they can order additional eero devices to create a mesh network from £ 89 (RRP £ 139).

And from September there is a monthly option for additional eero devices – with up to two additional eeros for just £ 6 per month.
