If your TalkTalk broadband isn’t working this afternoon, you are not alone. It appears that the popular Internet Service Provider (ISP) is having problems with some parts of the UK facing total internet blackout. The Gremlins appear to have started around 2:30 p.m., with areas in the East Midlands being hardest hit by the internet outage.
Here is a full list of areas affected by the TalkTalk outage: Alvaston, Arnold, Beeston, Bulwell, Burton on Trent, Derby, Draycott, Glenfield, Kirkby in Ashfield, Long Eaton, Loughborough, Mansfield, Peartree, Sandiacre, Sutton in Ashfield, Willowcroft.
Independent tracking website DownDetector, which monitors social media mentions to keep track of when web services are offline, complains that hundreds of customers are currently down using TalkTalk’s broadband.
The company has now also confirmed that there is a problem. The status page says, “We are aware that some customers in and around the East Midlands are currently experiencing a loss of service.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this time may cause and assure you that our engineers are working on restoring service as a priority.”
Users are also flocking to social media to complain about the issues. One TalkTalk customer said: “Hi @TalkTalk, you are making it impossible to work from home. My internet went down along with many others. Please help as soon as possible.”
While another tweeted, “@TalkTalk off the internet for 30 minutes. I’m in the Leicester area and work from home … what’s up?”
There is currently no word on when to fix the problem, although TalkTalk is working on the fix. Hopefully it should be fixed soon.
