When you use Snapchat on your iPhone, there are some simple pieces of advice you need to follow before it’s too late. The popular app is suffering from some major problems today as thousands of users cannot access the popular messaging service. It seems that a bug in the latest iOS update is causing the application to crash every time it is opened.
Snapchat confirmed the problem with a message on Twitter saying, “We have a problem with the latest version of Snapchat on the App Store. Wait, we’re looking into it and working on a solution!”
If you want to keep using the service and post messages on the platform, it is important that you follow some very simple advice.
The crashing issues only affect the latest version of Snapchat released by the company overnight. It’s called version 184.108.40.206 and you must avoid it at all costs.
As long as you don’t update things through the Apple App Store on your device, you can still chat and send messages to friends and family.
However, this is not the only thing you need to check now.
You need to make sure that your automatic app updates are disabled until Snapchat is released as a fix. With this setting on, things may download overnight without touching your phone.
To turn off automatic app updates, go to the settings > Tap on App Store > Enable or disable app updates.
If you are one of the unfortunate ones who have already updated the app, there is nothing you can do other than wait for Snapchat to release a fix and it seems that many users have suffered that fate.
Social media is now full of fans who vent their frustration at not being able to access the service with a tweet: “Snapchat just wants to crash for me all day, right?”
Another added, “If you have an iPhone … don’t update Snapchat, it keeps crashing and you can no longer use it.”
Cross your fingers for full service resuming overnight and Express.co.uk will update this article as soon as we hear more.
