Designers are not always good photographers. Take the recent advertising campaigns from Nicolas Ghesquière and Louis Vuitton. But the brand has chosen to go in a different direction with their latest ads. This time Steven Meisel captures the label’s new Alma handbag campaign. Styled by Carine Roitfeld, Rianne Van Rompaey, Sacha Quenby, Sora Choi and Vittoria Ceretti, they present the colorful bags in the studio.

“The styling, especially the hair, is so abhorrent that even Steven Meisel can’t save this crap,” said a disappointed Dontbeadrag.
Summer Day is obviously not a fan: “Very wrong Versace. Nothing works here. The photography, the pony, the outfits … tough pass. “
“Best casting and photographer and that’s still pretty awful,” Bluebanter admitted.

Mercredi absolutely agreed. “Flawless casting and photography, but those awful wigs ruined everything …”
“It’s been some time since I’ve seen such a terrible, terrible Meisel shoot!” pronounced a clearly annoyed Benn98.
“I’m a big believer in Steven Meisel, but even I can admit that this is a thorn in the side and far from its most beautiful moment. The styling is questionable, the post production is lousy, and the images have no depth at all. It’s all pretty flat and lifeless, ”vogue28 grumbled.
“That is incredibly bad. Meisel should be ashamed, ”said avonlea002.
