Sorry folks, but if you’re hoping to access Reddit this afternoon, you’re out of luck. The popular content sharing platform seems to have been down with reports of this major outage starting around 2:15 p.m. as the Gremlins are still influencing things.
The independent failure monitor DownDetector has seen a huge surge in Reddit Down reports, recording thousands of problems. DownDetector UK has recorded nearly 5,500 Reddit Down reports at the time of writing, with downdetector.com having recorded over 27,000 Reddit Down reports.
Users who have tried to access Reddit on both desktop, mobile and in the app have reported problems loading the website.
Many Reddit fans have now reached out on social media to express their frustrations. One user said, “Reddit is down and I have absolutely nothing to do.”
Whist another tweeted, “Is reddit down for everyone or is it just me?”
Reddit has now confirmed the outage with its Twitter status page, which reads: “Investigation: We are currently investigating this problem.”
There’s no word yet on when the issues will be fixed, but Reddit outages usually don’t last too long. Hopefully things will be up and running again soon.
