Pine Needle Magnificence brings us merciless skincare from Poland
Pine Needle Beauty – cruelty-free and vegan skin care
The founders of Pine Needle Beauty missed their favorite care products after moving to the US from Poland. They missed it so much that they decided to bring it here so we can all enjoy it. You can now buy cruelty-free and vegan IOSSI skin care without an expensive plane ticket to Poland!
Before we get into the reviews, let me tell you why Pine Needle Beauty is so great. First of all, they firmly believe that beauty should be cruelty free. For this reason, they curate products that are 100% vegan and have not been tested on animals at any point in the production and manufacturing process. They also believe that beauty should be environmentally friendly, so all packaging is recyclable. I also love that they don’t use digitally altered photography. There are so many skin care companies out there using fake before and after – that drives me crazy!
IOSSI skin care reviews
IOSSI manufactures skin care products that are “clean” and are made with natural and high-quality ingredients that are recognized by ECOCERT / COSMOS for use in natural and organic cosmetics. No unnecessary additives or artificial colors are used. Did you know that European law bans or restricts over 1,300 chemicals while the US only bans eleven? The cosmetics are sustainably produced in IOSSI’s own laboratory and most of them are packaged in beautiful glass containers (some with recyclable plastic parts). They’re very affordable too, with nothing over $ 32 and some in the $ 12.95 range.
Let’s start with my favorite product – IOSSI Acerola. It’s a spray-on toner that I almost never tried! I usually have to avoid anything with vitamin C or citrus fruits, but this face spray doesn’t irritate my skin. Most vitamin C products contain ascorbic acid, which is far too harsh for my skin. IOSSI only uses natural lemon and orange fruit extracts, which apparently I can tolerate.
The ingredients are 91.6% organic. This toner contains natural sugar maple / cane AHAs for exfoliating, hyaluronic acid for hydration, and niacinamide (AKA vitamin B3, a trendy ingredient and one of my favorites) to help with acne, fine lines, and dark spots. There are also tons of botanicals such as blueberries, Spanish sage (chia seeds), rose, licorice and many more. A full list can be found on the website.
You can splash acerola directly on your skin at any time of the day to freshen up. For best results, use twice a day after cleansing your skin and before adding serums, creams, or oils. If the scrub is too much for you, back off a bit and only use it at night.
IOSSI Rice Foam is a very gentle facial cleansing. As the name suggests, it comes in a foam dispenser. It is made from natural plants such as marigold, marshmallow root, copaiba oil, babassu oil, licorice, rice protein, orange water, bamboo, green tea, and Spanish sage. You can notice Cocos Nucifera fruit extract on the label. This is a coconut extract that doesn’t have the same fatty acid composition as coconut oil, so it’s non-comedogenic (no breakouts).
As I said, it’s very gentle. If you wear heavy makeup or SPF, I recommend doing an oil cleanse beforehand and / or using that with a washcloth or sonic brush.
IOSSI Rice Coconut is a 100% natural peeling and moisturizing facial peeling. It’s a thick paste that feels like homemade plasticine. All you need is a small amount to get a pretty intense exfoliator. I recommend using a little scrub with plenty of water as the rice powder, oat kernel flour, and coconut powder all have a ton of power! You can also use it as a cleavage, hand and body scrub.
IOSSI Naffi is a medium-weight, super moisturizing face cream with a HUGE list of moisturizing ingredients. This jar contains: avocado oil, jojoba oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, shea butter, perilla seed oil, wheat germ oil, borage seed oil, sea buckthorn berry oil, coconut fruit extract, glycerine and squalane.
I would recommend it for mature and normal to dry skin types. It applies smoothly and feels like it envelops your skin in a beautiful barrier. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all. However, some of these oils are high on the comedogenic scale (like wheat germ) so the cream may not be suitable for very oily or acne-like skin in my opinion.
The IOSSI A + E + C Vitamin Cocktail Eye Serum is a light oil full of anti-aging ingredients that can be safely applied to the sensitive area around the eyes. Retinol, vitamin E, vitamin C, squalane and other oils combine to form a moisturizing, antioxidant cocktail. This mixture is particularly recommended for dry and mature skin. It comes with a cooling rollball that makes it easier to apply while reducing inflammation.
Pine Needle Beauty has many other cruelty-free IOSSI skin care products, including the Neroli Shake, which I am dying to try! Check them out and follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
