Now I am sobbing: The Duke is not returning for Bridgerton Season 2 – here is who’s

In my opinion, 2020 had exactly one salvation: Bridgerton. The elaborately costumed, seductive piece from the time was just the thing to get us out of our end-of-year funk when it was released in December. It was especially exciting here at Who What Wear as we were lucky enough to have an exclusive interview and photoshoot with the star that got everyone talking: Regé-Jean Page, also known as the Duke of Hastings.

Unfortunately, Netflix just announced that Page won’t be reviving his steamy character for Bridgerton season 2. Why? Because the next episode follows the plot of the second book in the series, The Viscount Who Loved Me, which revolves around Daphne’s brother Lord Anthony Bridgerton and his search for a wife.

You can count on the entire Bridgerton family to return in Season 2, including Daphne, Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Eloise, and Francesca, as well as the all-important Lady Whistledown. The Matriarch of Bridgerton will also return, and based on the book, we expect the story to offer more insight into the death of the Bridgertons’ father and its impact on Anthony. We’ll also meet two new characters who haven’t been cast yet: sisters Kate and Edwina Sheffield.

“We’ll miss Simon’s on-screen presence, but he’ll always be part of the Bridgerton family,” read a statement the show has to offer – more intrigue and romance than my readers can stand. “According to Page’s new interview with Variety, we can take comfort that the actor knew his character’s storyline would come to an end in season one.

While we eagerly await the second season, scroll down to revisit some of the best Bridgerton costumes.
