No, Selena Gomez’s gown did not have a glowing coronary heart – it is really connected to her leg

Selena Gomez has released a new Spanish song, “De Una Vez”, accompanied by a music video in which we can get lost. Gomez is clearly excited about this new chapter in her career. “This is the beginning of something I’ve wanted to explore for so long,” she tweeted. “I hope you love it as much as I do.” So it makes sense that she should bring in a styling team that she can trust to bring this romantic story to life. Shirley Kurata and Lauren Levin have teamed up for the project and selected a matching Rodarte dress for spring 2021 with silk flowers from the brand. The look was complete with Daniela Villega’s Libertad opal earrings, which are a symbol of staying true to yourself and painting the picture of healing – that’s what this song is all about.

We spoke to Shirley about the styling process and what it was like working with Selena on set. She confirmed many nice details, including the fact that the Rodarte dress fitted like a glove and happened to be the first Selena tried on, even though there were runners-up. The jewelry was chosen before the dress too, and the story of how the glowing Milagro heart came to life is pretty neat too. While this isn’t the type of video in which Selena adorns us with multiple outfit changes, it’s safe to say that she makes an impression in that gorgeous floral number alone, and the story behind her ensemble is definitely worth reading.

Read on for our interview with Shirley and watch the video in full.
