New reasonably priced Amazon Fireplace tablets convey the most effective of Home windows 10 options with no points

Apple is set to launch its next iPad Pro next month, but Amazon is fighting back with its own updated line of inexpensive tablets. Not only do these new Fire slates offer a performance boost, but Amazon is also launching a bundle that includes a laptop-style keyboard and access to Office 365 and all of its apps like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote for one whole year. This means that you can enjoy a Windows 10 experience without endless security updates, error threats, and complicated menus.

If that sounds tempting, there are two new devices to choose from next month, including the entry-level Fire HD 10. This tablet offers an impressive carbon copy for a price of only 149.99 euros. For your buck, you get a 10.1-inch HD screen that’s 10 percent brighter than the previous Fire HD 10 model.

A new design makes it slimmer and lighter than previous Amazon tablets, and the display has been reinforced thanks to aluminum silicate glass.

Under the bonnet of the Fire HD 10 are more powerful specs that Amazon uses to speed up load times and accelerate performance. Other extras include a battery life of 12 hours, Dolby Atmos sound and up to 1 TB of storage thanks to the microSD card slot.

As an Amazon tablet, you naturally have hands-free access to Alexa, whereby the talkative assistant is called without having to touch the screen.

If these specs aren’t what you’re looking for, it may be worth digging a little deeper into your wallet to get the updated Fire HD 10 Plus. This tablet gets a higher quality design with a slate-colored soft-touch finish.

It also has a little more RAM – which should come in handy with any heavy-duty game you want to play when you’re not busy working in those Microsoft Office apps – and has the option to top up the battery wirelessly.

These extra features add to the price as this model costs £ 30 more than the standard version and it does not include the wireless charging dock which adds another £ 49.99 to your bill.

Prices start at £ 149.99 for the Fire HD 10, with the upgraded Fire HD 10 Plus costing £ 179.99. The productivity package that includes this keyboard case and Office 365 Personal subscription starts at £ 209.99.

Both tablets, Fire HD 10 and Fire HD 10 Plus, will also be available from Argos, Currys PC World, John Lewis and Very.co.uk, with Fire HD 10 also available through Tesco. Both new Fire HD tablets will be launched in May.
