Samsung fans could look forward to an exciting summer as the Korean tech company is rumored to be releasing a slew of shiny new devices. Nothing official has been announced yet, but rumors suggest that one of the company’s famous Unpacked events may only be a few weeks away.
Samsung’s unpacked showcases are known for bringing new innovations to the market, and the next event is expected to be a thriller with new smartphones, foldable headphones, wireless earbuds and a fully updated smartwatch, all of which are expected to come – the event certainly won’t let you down.
So if this gets you all hot, here is everything you need to know.
Back at the MWC show in Barcelona last month, Samsung confirmed that an event will be held this summer. That was all the information they revealed, but according to a leak from the ever-reliable Evan Blass on Twitter, we should expect the next Unpacked event on Aug. 11, Daily includes a statement from a Samsung official allegedly confirming that date.
Perhaps one of Samsung’s most exciting upgrades is the new Galaxy Watch.
As Samsung has more or less confirmed itself, the Galaxy Watch 4 will be revealed unpacked. After the Watch 3, we expect some new health features like blood oxygen monitoring and advanced sleep tracking.
But the biggest upgrade doesn’t come from the hardware, but from the new software developed with Google. The new One UI Watch operating system will combine Google’s software design with Samsung’s smartwatch apps and functions.
Another device that is sure to delight Samsung fans is the upcoming release of a cheaper Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition).
Samsung’s Fan Edition smartphones are usually cheaper than the previous flagship, with slightly lower performance features.
According to a recent leak, the Galaxy S21 FE will come with 5G connectivity, the latest Snapdragon 888 processor and three cameras. Even though this device costs less, it still seems that Samsung is bringing many of its premium features to you.
Together with the FE, we also expect updates to Samsung’s foldable range. Rumored new phones include the successor Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Both devices are expected to receive minor performance improvements, but may become waterproof. The Z Flip 3 is also to be completely redesigned with a larger mini display.
Finally, Samsung will also update its wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds, with a new model. It remains unclear whether the new model will follow the simpler Galaxy Buds, which compete with Apple’s AirPods, or the premium Galaxy Buds Pro, which rival the AirPods Pro.
In addition to some new colors, the most important change we anticipate will be a drop in the retail price. The earbuds can also be given noise cancellation to block out external noise.
It looks like Samsung is bringing a lot and Express.co.uk will be bringing you the latest news and rumors in the run-up to the Unpacked showcase this summer.
