Thousands of reports are coming in tonight that the Netflix app is down and not working on cell phones.
The outage began on August 28 at around 2 a.m. EDT and appears to be affecting subscribers in different regions.
After what has been shared so far, those affected cannot access any content via the Netflix streaming service.
It’s possible to open the Netflix app and access your account settings, but some subscribers won’t see any other information.
This also includes showing a blank screen that appears to be loading but isn’t showing any of the usual shows or movies. Other reports suggest that things load the normal way, but no content can be streamed.
It’s unclear what is causing the problems tonight, but the good news is this is not a global outage and should be fixed soon.
And Netflix shared an update confirming they are investigating tonight’s streaming issues and telling subscribers on Twitter:
“Hey! We are currently having trouble streaming on all devices. We are currently working on resolving the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
