Meghan Markle wore a fantastically symbolic outfit for her Oprah interview

Tag your calendars: Oprah’s much-anticipated interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will air on CBS on Sunday, March 7th at 8 p.m. EST / PST. It follows shortly after other major news from Duke and Duchess of Sussex two weeks ago: the announcement of their adorable baby # 2. While we’re currently six days before the interview, the network kindly shared a quick preview to whet our appetites.

In the preview, Markle wears an Armani dress adorned with a lotus flower, earrings from Canadian brand Birks (which she has worn several times) and a necklace from British designer Pippa Small. She also wears a bracelet that belonged to the late Princess Diana because the couple wanted to include her in the interview. How cute is that

Don’t overlook the details of their outfit: the lotus is a symbol of rebirth and resuscitation, paralleling the couple’s reappearance in their brand new post-royal life. Markle also owned jewelry brands from Canada and the UK, the two Commonwealth countries in which she lived. And finally, wearing Princess Diana’s bracelet is such a thoughtful and personal gesture.

In a press release, CBS explained what to expect from the program. “In the two-hour special, Oprah speaks to Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, in a comprehensive interview that covers everything from entering into life as a king, marriage, motherhood and philanthropic work, to dealing with life among intense public pressure” , it says in the statement. “They are later joined by Prince Harry as they discuss their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their growing family.”
