MAC Moss Definitely Pro Longwear Paint Pot ($ 23.00 for 0.17 oz.) Is a darker forest green with subtle, warm undertones and cooler, emerald green pearls. The consistency was very pliable, resulting in a product that was more mixable and spreadable, but applied unevenly and had a sheer cover that didn’t build up much. I didn’t get any improved results despite trying fingertips as well as different types of brushes for applying. After nine hours of wearing it, I started to wrinkle a bit.

Formula overview
$ 23.00 / 0.17 oz. – – $ 135.29 per ounce
The formula is said to be “highly pigmented, long-lasting, mixable” and can be used either as an “eye primer” or as a “cream shade”. The brand says it should wear “24 hours” without peeling or wrinkling.
The matte finish performs consistently and tends to perform better than the shades with some sheen. The matte shades were slightly creamy to a little stiffer, and with the stiffer ones I preferred to use a brush to get the starting product out of the jar and then angrily spread the product with a fingertip. The matte shades were usually semi-opaque to opaque in the coverage and lasted longer – 12 to 14 hours before they fade a little – but could be mixed differently (based on the creaminess of the original texture).
The shimmery finish, particularly pearlescent / metallic, was significantly smoother than the matte shades, and this resulted in sharper coverage that was often applied unevenly and difficult to apply precisely. They were best applied and built up in thin layers, but the results were inconsistent and varied widely between colors. I didn’t find that they were better applied with brushes over the fingertips or vice versa. The shimmer colors also showed less wear and tear, and slight creases were common within 10 hours of wearing.
With such 24 hour wear requirements, I wear as long as I’m awake, but I don’t want to sleep with my makeup on, so I extrapolate based on my condition after 16 hours. (Also, it’s rare for products to actually run for up to 12, let alone 16 hours with no signs of wear and tear.) I can’t remember this product before (and mine) having any specific claim to 24 hour wear from previous reviews don’t mention it, just that it was “long lasting”) so ratings for certain colors have changed as a result.

MAC Black Mirror Pro Longwear paint pot ($ 23.00 for 0.17 oz.) Is a medium black with neutral undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had a semi-opaque pigmentation that was buildable, but the texture was drier and stiffer to work with. I would recommend using a synthetic brush to dig around and get the product out, then use a fingertip to soften the edges.
It would be easier to work as an eyeliner or apply on the lid to create a cut crease look as it was just difficult to even out the edges as they were almost solid once they came in contact with my skin. It wore well for 12.5 hours before it started to fade slightly, although I didn’t see wrinkles until after 15 hours of wearing; not quite 24 hours, but it seemed like it had some visible product at the end of that period.
