LG’s new wi-fi earbuds supply a function that Apple and Samsung simply cannot

With every tech company in the world rolling out a pair of wireless earbuds, it can be almost impossible to stand out from the ever-growing crowd. However, LG did just that with the introduction of its brand new LG TONE Free FP9 headphones.

These new earbuds have all of the usual features we’ve come to expect, such as: B. active noise cancellation, 24 hour playback and easy pairing with a smartphone. However, they also come with a brilliant upgrade that finally addresses one of the biggest problems facing wireless headphones.

If you’ve ever owned a pair of AirPods or Galaxy Buds, you will know how frustrating it is to use them with fitness equipment or in-flight entertainment on an airplane.

There’s no way to plug them into the 3.5mm headphone jack, which often means taking a second pair of wired headphones with you when you’re exercising or watching movies on the plane.

In fact, LG boasts that the UV-C LED integrated into the TONE Free cases has been tested to reduce bacteria on the speaker network of the earphones by 99.9 percent in just five minutes.

So these are the new FP9 wireless headphones, but there are two other audio products too, including the FP8 and the cheaper FP5.

The FP8 retains most of the functionality of the FP9, although they do not receive this Plug & Wireless upgrade. The entry-level FP5s offer ANC, long battery life, and IPX water resistance, but owners are missing out on the UV light and they won’t get the blockbuster movie off the plane into your ears either.

LG says the new LG TONE Free FP series will be available in a range of colors including Charcoal Black, Pearl White and Haze Gold starting this month. Prices will follow shortly.
