Legislation Roach is Hollywood’s Favourite Stylist – This is a rundown of his greatest appears to be like

From the red carpet to the carefully curated street style, celebrity outfits often become the catalyst of fashion trends and even points of inspiration for designers. Behind the scenes, however, there is all the glamor that deserves awards and a stylist whose job it is to create these eye-catching looks. As for the groundbreaking celebrity stylists, Chicago-born self-proclaimed “image architect” Law Roach is high-profile, though he’s probably been careful with his high-profile client list by now.

Before Roach became an industrial mogul, he first ran his own vintage boutique, where, he said, Fashionista, a customer happened to lead him to the person who would become his biggest styling customer, a then 14-year-old Zendaya. Fast forward 10 years and Roach’s relationship with the actor is still strong. “You come in with your worth and you do a good job and you are nice to people,” Roach told POPSUGAR when we met him at Fashion Week, where he was judging the Supima design competition. “It’s passion. When you’re passionate, it outshines everything else.” Over time, he has also worked extensively with greats like Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Priyanka Chopra, Tiffany Haddish, and others. The stylist is even credited with redesigning Celine Dion’s image. “I don’t do much street style,” says Law, reflecting the variety of outfits Dion wore during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week 2016, “but I invented street style in Paris with Celine Dion.”

These days you will have a hard time finding a high profile magazine without Law Roach’s job as he has styled everything from Zendayas British Vogue cover, to Halsey for Beckon, to Christian Serratos for she. Long story short, the Chicagoer has styled over 12 magazine covers this year alone, and if we talk about impressive accomplishments, he also styled a total of 10 clients in one night for this year’s Met Gala. As we saw, none of them were Zendaya, who dropped out of the annual event this year, but Law teased that fans would see a few new faces that he would style. Additionally, Law’s talents have propelled him beyond his styling role. He sat alongside Ashley Graham and Rita Ora as judges on the 23rd cycle of America’s next top model, and is currently a judge at HBO Max’s Legendary. In 2016, Roach added “Designer” to his resume and joined Zendaya as co-creative director of her now shuddering shoe and apparel line, Daya by Zendaya, before later working with the actor on her Zendaya x Tommy Hilfiger collaboration for the fall 2019 design collection.

With the appreciation Roach has amassed, so does access, so it’s not uncommon to see your customers off the catwalk in fresh pieces (see: Zendaya’s Recent Alaïa Moment), but since Roach is an avowed lover of vintage, best you can find them in hard-to-find archive pieces, often from his own supply. It’s this mix that makes every look in his looks fresh and exciting, and it’s no wonder Law’s clients trust him enough to take fashion risks. Ahead, here’s a journey back in time for some of the best ensembles Roach has created, from last week’s Met Gala to moments from the 2010s.
