As a regular gymnast, before the whole world was turned upside down, it was a little daunting to say goodbye to my collection of cute workout clothes early last year. I know most people consider leggings a wardrobe staple, but outside of the gym, I’ve rarely literally worn them. That was until I discovered Girlfriend Collective – the IG-famous cult activewear brand that stands out for its size inclusiveness and ethical workout clothing. In a weak attempt to get excited about home training (FYI, I hate home training), I bought a kit from the brand after hearing so many rave reviews from friends. I was not disappointed.
Although I quickly stopped exercising at home, I carried the set everywhere I went. It was a cool, figure-hugging alternative to tracksuits, and the simple, raised design made it easy to wear with every layer I threw over it. Shortly thereafter, my obsession with minimal activewear kits was born, and now that I can officially step on the elliptical and weight room in full shape, you can bet I’ll buy more.
In case you’re wondering, no, these aren’t the shoddy workout clothes you wore in PE years ago – these activewear sets act like exercise and combine it with the athletic ability to do an hour of yoga, HIIT, boxing, or all of that mentioned above. Think of it as the fully developed form of the sport that you can actually work up a sweat in. Read on to see all of the gorgeous sets I want to buy, as well as how some of our favorite fashion girls wear them.
