ILIA Waking Up Coloration Haze Pigment Score & Swatches

ILIA Waking Up Color Haze multi-purpose pigmentILIA Waking Up Color Haze multi-purpose pigment ($ 32.00 for 0.23 oz.) Is a darker copper with warm, orange undertones and a semi-matte finish. It felt more gel-like at first, with a smooth, emollient consistency that, as a cheek product, spread very easily on my skin – almost too spreadable, which made it a little less mixable than ideal.

It dried out to a semi-matte finish that didn’t look flat but wasn’t as damp as the other cheek / lip products (as intended). The cover was semi-transparent and, if desired, built on a medium cover. As a lip product, it was a little clingy and less flattering to wear as it emphasized imperfections. It wore well for six and a half hours as a blush and two hours as a lip product, and didn’t feel drying over time.

It is said to have a “buildable” cover that can be worn as a “paint wash” or built up for a “richer, bolder payout”. It can be used on both the cheeks and lips. The consistency has a smooth, liquid-creamy consistency – much easier to spread and smoother than a potted cream blush, but a bit denser and more substantial than a real liquid blush. It had a thinner, more sticky consistency on my lips and was moderately sticky. The coverage was pure to medium (depending on how much product was used or what tools were used) and something could be built up but was difficult to get far beyond the medium.

The colors I tried spread out and melted well on my cheeks without accentuating my skin texture or the lifting foundation, and they mostly dried out. As a lip product, the color came up pretty well, but the lighter shade was more likely to get stuck in my lip lines while the deeper shade was more flattering. They lasted six to seven hours as a cheek color and between two and three hours as a lip product and were non-drying.

It had a sweet vanilla scent and there was a slight tingling sensation on my skin when I used it as a cheek color but nothing that I noticed on my lips.
