I can not imagine I am saying this, however I believe wedges might be cool once more
For one reason or another, 2021 is going to go down as the year of the fashion comeback kids, with everything from flat jeans and whale tails to micro-mini skirts and platform flip-flops re-emerging. But the year is not over yet. Perhaps the final resurgence of 2021 comes in the form of a heel style that you probably thought you finally retired from in 2007: wedges.
Even though I swore by the sculptural shoe silhouette years ago after discovering wedges in Emilio Pucci’s A / W 21 collection in February, I couldn’t get them out of my head. In addition, brands like Dubié, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Amina Muaddi and Staud have reinterpreted the once outdated style in a modern way, which makes wedges even more alluring. When I discovered (and later bought) a pair of red leather wedge boots at Zara, I was a real convert.
If you’re not that easy to convince, keep scrolling. I would bet that after seeing the 36 pairs in front of you, you are well on your way to becoming a certified wedge owner.
