Home windows 11 price: is it free or do you need to pay to obtain and improve?

Windows 11 looks very modern compared to its predecessor. It eliminates the sharp edges and straight lines found in Windows 10, and switches to softer curves and rounded corners. Every app and system icon has been designed from the ground up to make it all look like one piece – something that definitely isn’t the case if you dive deep enough into File Explorer or the Control Panel in Windows 10, where some system icons come from the Still at the end of the 90s.

There is also a panel of interactive widgets that can be swiped over anything you do on the screen. These little widgets can track stock prices, display headlines from news websites, present the forecast for the next few days, and much more. You can also swipe to fill the entire display with these widgets, which replace the live tiles that were on the Windows 10 Start menu, showing some information from the app on the icon itself – and save yourself a click, if They wanted to check the weather quickly.

But it’s the Start menu that’s the biggest change in Windows 11.

With Windows 11, Microsoft decided to center the Start menu on the taskbar that runs along the bottom of the screen. The rounded corners found throughout the operating system also made the cut in the new Start menu, which pops up when you click in the center of your screen. A grid of 18 pinned apps forms the upper half of the new start menu design, while the lower half is taken with recommendations from Microsoft.

So let’s get to the brass tax … what will it all cost?

Windows 11: Can you download and install Windows 11 for free?

With all of the work that has gone into the new design and new features, one could assume that Microsoft will be charging a handsome fee for Windows 11. However, this will not be the case.

Windows 11 will be free for all Windows 10 users. And since Windows 10 remains a free upgrade for those running Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 – contrary to Microsoft’s announcement – you can upgrade a Windows 7 computer to Windows 11 without spending a dime. For those who don’t remember, Microsoft offered a similarly generous promotion after the introduction of Windows 10. This is designed to get as many people as possible on the latest version of the desktop software to avoid supporting too many versions of Windows. And with 1.3 billion people running the operating system now, it can be said to have worked.

To upgrade to Windows 11 for free, you must meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Microsoft has confirmed that you need at least a 64-bit CPU, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage. Windows 11 is delivered via the existing Windows Update app – as if it were a quarterly update to Windows 10.
