Google Pixel 5a launches at the moment? First take a look at the brand new cellphone forward of its official unveiling

According to rumors, the Google Pixel 5a could be officially launched today. Earlier this month, Google lifted the lid on its flagship Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones, which are slated to hit the market later this year. And right after this announcement, the Pixel 5a – the latest budget variant in the Pixel smartphone range – could be introduced soon.

As reported by MSPowerUser, the first ad for the Google Pixel 5a appears to have gone live early. The promotional shot of the Pixel 5a promo was revealed by Japanese company SoftBank, with the ad showing the phone’s camera functions.

There’s also a first proper look at the Pixel 5a, which has a similar design to its predecessor. In terms of specs, the Pixel 5a is expected to have a 6.4-inch 60Hz display and be powered by the 5G-enabled Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip.

This is the same 5G chip that came with the Pixel 5 last year, which was dubbed the phone because of the “economic downturn”. This device was launched in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic and chose to be reasonably priced instead of a huge leap in design and specifications.

Elsewhere, the Pixel 5a is said to be equipped with 6 GB of RAM and a huge 4680 mAh battery. This is the largest battery size ever for a Pixel device, and it improves on the Pixel 4a 5G’s 3,800 mAh power adapter.

The Pixel 5a looks like it’s IP67 dust and waterproof too and comes with the tried and tested 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of price, the Pixel 5a should be cheaper than its predecessor.

The Pixel 5a is reportedly priced at $ 449 – that’s $ 50 cheaper than the Pixel 4a 5G when it launched.

In the UK, the Pixel 4a 5G launched for £ 499 – so if Android fans see a similar price drop in Blighty, the 5a could retail for £ 449.

If you like the sound of all of this, then don’t wait too long for the Pixel 5a to be released.

The Pixel 5a is slated to hit the market on Tuesday, August 17th, with the release date reportedly being Thursday, August 26th.

In addition to the new Pixel phones, Google could also have another new product up its sleeve that hits the market in 2021.

Rumors have it that a new Chromecast may hit the market this year, which could be the successor to the Chromecast Ultra.

However, it remains to be seen what the big selling point of a potential new ultra streaming device could be.

The main thing that set the Chromecast Ultra apart from the regular Google streaming dongle was its 4K HDR support.

However, the last Chromecast with Google TV released last year already supports 4K content.
