Google is giving all Chromebook customers an essential replace – replace your laptop computer NOW

If the new update hasn’t arrived yet, there are a few things you can try that provide a temporary solution.

Google has released three workarounds for Chromebook users, including:

• Powerwash the device.

This is basically a classy name for factory reset. Google says you can get your Chromebook running like new again by doing a factory reset. A factory reset will erase everything on your Chromebook’s hard drive, including all files in the Downloads folder.

POWERWASH – Sign out of your Chromebook • Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r • Select Restart • In the field that appears, select Powerwash and then Next.

• Roll back the Chrome OS device to an earlier version via USB.

• Remove the affected account and add the account back to the device
