If you chose to have Freeview in your living room instead of paying a monthly fee to Sky or Virgin Media, you may have made a wise choice. Not only is this service completely subscription-free, but it was announced that those who tune in will now be able to view more live and on-demand content than ever before.

In fact, Freeview Play, which comes pre-installed on most modern smart TVs, not only has 70 live channels, but it now also offers over 30,000 hours of on-demand TV from services like iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and My5. According to Freeview, the company has increased its live and streaming content by more than half in just two years.

The update follows the addition of new players and an effort by UK broadcasters to bring even more on-demand TV to everyone. New box sets, old favorites, brand new dramas and educational programs are added to the platform every day.

Freeview Play, which was first launched in 2015, is now available in 13 million households with over 9 million regular users. This makes it the UK’s fastest growing TV platform.
