Extra Virgin Media prospects will see large broadband pace will increase this 12 months

It is official! Virgin Media and the UK cellular network O2 are now one company and it seems that this joint venture could do very well for customers. The new company, simply called Virgin Media O2, promises to make serious investments in its combined infrastructure, and it seems that broadband customers may be the first to see the changes. According to an update to celebrate the merger of the two companies, Virgin says it will soon be delivering these ultra-fast speeds to more people.

“Virgin Media O2 is already the largest gigabit broadband operator in the country and will deliver these speeds across our network by the end of the year,” the company said in a post on its website.

If you didn’t know, with a gigabit connection, users can whiz a Full HD movie on their TV in less than 40 seconds and are around 17 times faster than the UK average.

It is unclear how many customers will be offered speeds of 1 Gbps in 2021, although Virgin Media O2 has said in the past that it would ensure that at least 16 million households would get this service within a year of the deal between the companies Tobe offered .

Virgin Media O2 also says it will merge next-generation gigabit broadband and 5G services while expanding its network reach across the country.
