If your telephone contract has expired and you don’t feel like upgrading to a new handset, it is a very good idea to switch to a SIM-only tariff. These offers will always be cheaper as they do not include a handset fee. When you take out a smartphone plan, a portion of the monthly price is used on the handset, but once the deal ends you won’t have to pay those higher costs anymore.
If you don’t take the time to switch from a previous phone contract – or to switch to a new handset – your network will continue to charge the same monthly bill, even though you will be billed for the full smartphone at the end of the 24-month contract.
All the major networks offer SIM only deals, and right now there are some big bargains to be had, including deals with unlimited data, which means your Netflix binge should never stop and you won’t be charged any additional costs more internet access as it never runs out.
Perhaps one of the best unlimited data deals comes from Three, which offers six months for half the price. That means you pay just £ 10 per month for six months and then £ 20 for the remainder of the contract period. This offer also includes access to 5G speeds as well as unlimited calls and SMS.

Along with Three, Vodafone has also cut the cost of its unlimited Max SIM card, which also offers all-you-can-eat 5G data. It is now £ 25 per month which saves £ 120 over the contract period.
Vodafone Max includes 51 roam-free destinations and the fastest speeds possible over the company’s 5G network, which could mean downloads are being delivered to the device at over 200Mbps. This Vodafone offer ends on July 25th so be quick

You also get unlimited calls and SMS and don’t have to sign a long-term contract, so you can leave whenever you want. This SMARTY deal ends on July 13th.

If your chosen network is EE there is currently a very tempting offer on their website. There’s unlimited data, but the deal includes 160GB of fast 5G for just £ 20 a month, which is pretty good considering that EE is one of the more expensive networks to join.

There’s also a very similar offering from O2 where the network also spends 120GB of data for £ 20, though that offer also includes free Disney + for six months.
