Mobile video streaming has exploded over the past year, and it’s only growing the more we go with the lockdown. According to EE, its customers streamed 1.3 million additional hours of HD video in July compared to May this year.
Because of this, the cellular network has introduced a whole host of new benefits for customers with its Smart and Full Works plans that will help them enjoy endless hours of video content.
EE’s Smart Benefit program already included Apple Music, BT Sports, roaming abroad and a video data pass that allows users to watch videos without consuming any data. Now it has added the original and best streaming service Netflix as a choice.
Customers who choose Netflix as a perk can get free access to a £ 5.99 Netflix Basic plan that lets them watch standard definition shows and movies on just one device. An additional £ 4 per month will upgrade to a standard plan with HD streaming and downloads on two devices, while an additional £ 8 will be upgraded to a premium plan with UHD content and access for four devices.
It gets even better for Android customers. EE’s Full Works plan, which gives access to three smart benefits, was previously only available to Apple customers. It has now been rolled out to Android users so they can choose free subscriptions to Netflix, Apple Music and BT Sport – saving a whopping £ 25 per month.
Already have a Netflix account? Don’t worry – EE promises that the setup will be “seamless” and that you can keep your existing account.

The offers are available from today on the EE website, in the shops and in telesales. Smart Plan customers can choose one benefit, while Full Works users get three.
So far, EE is the only major UK network to offer a Netflix subscription as part of its calling plans. O2 packages include Amazon Music, Prime Video, Audible and Calm subscriptions, while Vodafone offers discounts on shopping streets and local restaurants.
