ColourPop Limoncello Lux Glosses Scores & Swatches

Italian ice cream

ColourPop Italian Ice Lux Gloss ($ 8.00 for 0.16 oz.) Has a clear base with sparkling spots of white gold throughout. The texture was smooth, moderately thick, if not very sticky, and spread evenly over my lips. It had sheer coverage, which wasn’t a surprise given the clear base, but the sparkle was barely there and not very visible in person. It stayed on for two hours and felt moisturizing.

Formula overview

$ 8.00 / 0.16 oz. – – $ 50.00 per ounce

The formula is said to have “shine” with a “pillow-soft” texture that “moisturizes” the lips. The brand is not clear on how pigmented or how pure the formula should be. Instead, they have the “perfect amount of color in one”. Based on what I can deduce from promotional images, their marketing and typical lip gloss claims (in the industry), gloss is usually a transparent cover rather than an opaque cover. Based on this, I will evaluate the expectation of medium coverage.

The formula has a smooth consistency that is more like a gel cream in that it feels denser (“pillow-like”) without being heavy or sticky. I didn’t feel like they were the most forgiving, however, as most of the shades settled in my lip lines to a small extent. The cover was purely to semi-transparent, which meant that the color tones looked more similar than in the tubes (the initial set-up could therefore have been much more diverse). They lasted between two and three hours and were moisturizing to wear.

No taste was apparent and they had a sweet, sugary smell.

Gelato

ColourPop Gelato Lux Gloss ($ 8.00 for 0.16 oz.) Is a medium black coral with warmer, orange undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-transparent pigmentation in a single layer that applied evenly to my lips and seemed to soften most of my lip lines. The texture was smooth, a little thicker, but comfortable to wear and slightly moisturizing for the three hours it lasted.

Biscotti

ColourPop Biscotti Lux Gloss ($ 8.00 for 0.16 oz.) Is a medium-dark brown with moderate warm undertones and a cream-colored finish with barely any pearl. It had a semi-transparent to medium coverage with a smooth, creamy consistency that was moderately thick but not heavy or sticky to wear. The color was applied fairly evenly with some product that settled into my deeper lip lines, although it was barely noticeable in person. It wore well for three hours and felt moisturizing over time.

Panna cotta

ColourPop Panna Cotta Lux Shine ($ 8.00 for 0.16 oz.) Is a medium peach with warm, more orange undertones and a creamy finish. It had a semi-transparent pigmentation that spread out unevenly and stuck to my lip lines. I couldn’t make this sit evenly; I tried just spreading it with the doe foot applicator, but the thicker texture made it difficult not to pinch my lips together to smooth it out further. However, this resulted in the product creating demarcation lines where I pressed my lips together. This shade stayed on for two and a half hours but was moisturizing.
