ColourPop At First Crush Cheek Quad Take a look at & Swatches

At the first crush

ColourPop At First Crush 4-Pan Cheek Palette ($ 18.00 for 0.3 oz.) Is a medium-deep set of shades that includes a cream-to-powder highlighter, powder bronzer, and two powder blushes. The highlighter was the best performance, but all of the products were consistent with my experience with the formulas over time – the powder tones could have been better blended and easier to work with for me.

In my experience, ColourPop’s powder blush formula has a really smooth, silky consistency that can be more powdery (which helps make it more buildable) at times accentuating the dryness of my skin. I found this to be true to varying degrees with these as they were a little thin and flat and not always as easy to apply as I would expect.

A flutter

A flutter is a light-medium copper with strong, warm orange tones and a luminous sheen. It had opaque pigmentation when applied with a fingertip and medium buildable coverage when applied with a dab brush.

The texture felt smooth, emollient, and moist, which allowed it to glide over both bare skin and foundation, but once it came in contact with my skin, it felt more powdery. It wore well for 10 hours before it visibly faded.

Dizzy like

Dizzy like is a medium caramel brown with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had a medium, buildable color coverage, paired with a soft, moderately powdery consistency that was a bit thinner and drier.

I would recommend applying this on matte skin as this will make it easier to blend; On the bare skin it was more difficult to spread and diffuse easily, so I had to use very thin layers to get a fairly homogeneous result. This shade lasted a good eight hours before noticeably fading.

ColourPop’s Pressed Powder Bronzer should have a “super velvety-soft” feeling that gives a “naturally tanned sheen”. No coverage was mentioned, but the brand’s promotional samples showed full coverage. The bronzers had a soft, silky texture that was slightly powdery in the pan but was easy to apply, blended well, and felt good against the skin. Most shades appeared to have a semi-matte to silky finish, which helped them slide on the skin and appear more natural (in the finish). The wear and tear ranged from eight to eight and a half hours on me.

Get butterflies

Get butterflies is a lighter, medium-dark orange-coral with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was moderately powdery so I would suggest using a less dense brush and using a lighter hand while picking up the paint.

It had medium, buildable pigmentation so it was difficult to ingest too much product, but it was easier to mix out smaller amounts as it wasn’t the most easily blended formula. It wore well for eight hours before it faded a little.

Formula overview

$ 8.00 / 0.13 oz. – $ 61.54 per ounce

The formula is said to be “soft” and have a “natural and healthy flush” that has a “long shelf life” and “can be layered to your desired intensity”. It is a light to moderately powdery powder blush with a semi-transparent to semi-opaque, buildable color gradient. The consistency feels drier, thinner, and while it feels silky, I found that it can be difficult to evenly distribute the type of powder blush on the skin, depending on your skin type or base preferences. The drier the skin / base, the better the formula would blend, but natural oils or slips made the blush remain uneven and difficult to blend. The average wearing time for me was between seven and eight hours.

Hello in love

Hello in love is a medium dark pink with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage in a single coat that could be built up with two to three coats to full coverage. The powder blush had a smooth, silky consistency that was thin and slightly powdery.

As a result, if my skin became numb, it was more likely to be sticky and unwilling to smudge. It lasted a good eight hours before it visibly faded.
