Bite Beauty Sesame Power Move Moisturizing, soft, matte lipstickBite Beauty Sesame Power Move Moisturizing, soft, matte lipstick ($ 28.00 for 0.14 oz.) Is a dusty, rose-coral color with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage that didn’t build up well. The texture had a slight glide on it which made it easy to apply, but the product pooled in my lip lines and gathered around any imperfections in the texture (although it was applied after the peel!). It took three hours and didn’t dry.

Formula overview

$ 28.00 / 0.14 oz. – $ 200.00 per ounce

The formula is said to have “vibrant color delivery” with a “velvety matte finish” that “looks (and feels) good on the lips.” It’s a silicone-based formula (the first ingredient is dimethicone), which are often the more “modern” matte lipstick formulas. This gives them a lighter, more velvety feel – creamy enough to glide on but almost “dry” to the touch without being as clingy as traditional matte surfaces.

Color delivery ranged from semi-opaque to opaque, although some shades were applied better than others; the lighter shades appeared to be less pigmented, while some of the deeper shades weren’t applied as evenly. The midtones did the best overall; They had more complete coverage, were more pleasant and even to apply, and tended to be more forgiving of imperfections in the structure of the lips. Close-ups show slight “balls” of the product, although in most cases I could not feel or see them personally.

The matte silicone-based formulas have a thinner consistency that, depending on the shade and application, can accentuate the lip texture or separate along the lip contours. Most shades didn’t, but some did for me. With wear and tear, I found that medium and darker shades tended to draw more clearly into my lip lines as the colors tended to wear unevenly to a certain extent.

The colors lasted between three and six hours, with deeper, red-based hues lasting longer and leaving a stronger stain, and the lighter hues lasting the shortest time. The formula didn’t feel dry to the touch, but was very light and comfortable to wear for the first few hours and then felt a little stickier as the product wore off.

Most of the colors are new to the range, although the “recurring” colors are quite similar to the colors in Amuse Bouche but have a different finish and to some extent depth due to the difference in surface finish. Amuse Bouche’s formula was a little different as it had a creamier, denser, and cream / satin finish, that is, it had shine, more depth, and more lubricity. If you liked the luminosity of the Amuse Bouche formula, the new formula doesn’t offer it; If you’ve always wanted a more matte version, you may find yourself enjoying the new formula.

The formula had a vanilla scent but no noticeable taste.

Bite Beauty Pomelo Power Move Moisturizing, soft, matte lipstickBite Beauty Pomelo Power Move Moisturizing, soft, matte lipstick ($ 28.00 for 0.14 oz.) Is a light, light medium pink coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that looked worse when I tried to build up the color. The texture felt smooth and slightly creamy even though it was thin and stuck to my lips. This resulted in the texture being emphasized and the product getting into my lip lines from the start (and only deteriorating over time). It lasted a good three hours and felt neither dry nor moisturizing.
