The broadband provider now offers fiber optic customers the opportunity to test the speed increase at no additional cost – so you can test faster Wi-Fi speeds of up to 500 Mbit / s without having to be tied to a 24-month contract.
During the test phase, BT will unlock faster speeds in your home. That means you can put the faster downloads to your own tests – from streaming in Ultra HD, downloading updates to your PC, or video calls while other household members are streaming or playing online … the list goes on. This should give you a real idea of whether higher speeds would improve your experience.
After all, it’s possible that your pathetic Wi-Fi speeds aren’t related to the speed of your connection to your home.
