Apple says the number of people using the Breathe app has increased. In response to this increased demand, Apple has updated the animations in the app and added a “Reflect” feature so that you can take a moment to review the events of the past few days. Since there is more than just breathing exercises, the Breathe app has been renamed Mindfulness.
That’s not the only improvement when it comes to health properties. Anyone who wears their Apple Watch in bed will now track their breathing rate. Like all markers tracked by Apple’s Health app available on iPhone and iPad, long-term trends are marked when Apple has enough data to see if your health is improving or not.
If you want to improve your fitness, there are new classes on Apple Fitness +. Those without a subscription can watch Pilates and Tai Chi from their wrist – workouts that weren’t supported in previous versions of watchOS.
As you’d expect from a new Apple Watch operating system upgrade, watchOS 8.0 brings a new watch face called Portrait. It uses depth data from portrait mode images, which add artificial blur to the background of your photos to mimic a high-end DSLR to add the clock behind the subject. So you don’t have to put up with the digital watch face that hides the person you want to stand out on your wrist. Scrolling the Digital Crown on the side of your wearable highlights the subject of the photo.
watchOS 8.0 also brings a number of improvements to the messaging function. You can now tap words in a draft answer to delete them. Scrolling the Digital Crown also moves the cursor. And like the Messages app on your iPhone, you can use small apps in Messages to send GIFs, videos, and more from your wrist.
According to Apple, replying to and sending texts from your Apple Watch should now be as comprehensive as it was on the iPhone.
For the first time, a version of the Find Items app is coming to Apple Watch that allows users to find tagged items through the Find My Network. A separate Find Devices app helps users find lost Apple devices signed in with the same Apple ID, e.g. B. an iPad or Mac. It looks like watch owners can only use the control center to ring the bell Your iPhone to find it nearby.
“Apple Watch is the world’s most popular watch and keeps users healthy, active, and connected,” said Kevin Lynch, Apple’s vice president of technology.
“With watchOS 8, we’re providing more convenient access to places where users live, work, and visit, with major updates to the home and wallet, expanding support for both physical and mental wellbeing, and enabling a deeper personal connection with the new portraits face and updates on news. “
