Ankle boots can cool you down – here is what replaces them
If you are reading this you probably love or hate ankle boots. We can’t really remember a time when they weren’t a staple in the wardrobe, but that doesn’t mean that other styles of boots can’t hit the market that feel fresher than the tried and true ankle boots. Especially on the way into a new season, we get an insight into which shoe trends will be everywhere in the coming months, and ankle boots may not be one of them. How do we know?
Footwear News recently spoke to some of the scene’s biggest buyers, including Mytheresa’s Tiffany Hsu (her lovely feet are pictured above). Of the top trends she discovered, Hsu said: “The mid-high and knee high boots are getting bigger than ever, with designers focusing on this height and less on the ankle boots. The main trend here was the boots that were worn under midi skirts, especially in a bright way. “
Coincidentally (or maybe not) we saw more and more knee-high boots in the street style scene over the course of the season. Ankle boots will always be a must-have shoe style, but if you’re looking to get extra excited in 2021, get yourself a pair of mid-height or knee-high boots.
