The COVID Cards feature is initially only available in the US, but will be rolled out in other countries.
The COVID cards show the patient’s name, the type of vaccine received and the date of the doses.
It also shows a QR code and other details – like the vaccine supplier and the batch number for the dose.
Google also said, “The user’s COVID vaccination and testing information is stored on their Android device. If a user wants to access this information on multiple devices, the user must manually save it on each device. Google does not keep a copy of the User COVID vaccination or testing information. “
Google said that Google’s COVID cards will not be shared with its various services or third party providers and will not be used for advertising.
They also said a lock screen is required to use the COVID card feature.
This is used for additional security and the protection of personal data.
