If you’ve seen any of our posts here surrounding the gorgeousness that is Frank & Eileen fabrics, you know. If not, let me just tell you… I am continually impressed. The care and attention to detail that goes into producing the fabrics for this clothing is incredible, and they become pieces you want to keep wearing over and over. (You can find more specifics about their fabrics and practices here.)

Two Early-Fall Frank & Eileen Favorites: Rory Dress + Utility Skirt

Dress (M) | Skirt (10)

This time I fell in love with (again) the Rory Maxi Shirtdress in a fabulous red and a seriously adorable skirt in their stretch linen blend. It’s SO good, friends. It’s been so hot here in Portland this week and I’ve worn it 3x already! These pieces are in colors that will take me into Early Fall as well, which I love.

Let’s get into the fun stuff.

The Rory Maxi Shirtdress in Washed Linen

Dress (M)

There’s just something about a red dress that will always be eye-catching and, at the same time, timeless to me. And while some reds are tough to wear, this one is just right. It’s a gorgeous washed shade of that leans a little more tomato than too cool (I’m a color nerd) and is just perfection.

Fit: True to size for a breezy fit. Wearing a M.

Fabric: 100% Washed Linen

Dress (M)

This beauty is made of Frank & Eileen’s Washed Linen, which is just as lovely as it sounds. And if you haven’t worn a button down of F&E’s yet, you must. The top button is strategically placed on the neckline to be a little lower than your traditional button down, but trust, it’s perfectly placed. It shows off a pretty necklace like no other.

And the breeziness factor of this maxi dress is so good. I love having pieces like this that I can feel covered in but not hot. These make a phenomenal travel piece, a great swim coverup and are super cute with another button down tied at the waist for a variation on styling. I also want to try the denim button down layered on top as another option.

The Jameson Utility Skirt

I’d been hoping to find a skirt lately that I could wear with my favorite button downs. I saw the look somewhere recently and it just felt very up my alley. Well, enter this new-to-me F&E option and I was stoked.

This is going to sound a bit dramatic but this is the skirt of my dreams. Lol. I have not in recent years been much of a short skirt person. But this summer I am embracing it and it is mostly thanks to this little number. The Jameson Utility skirt is made of Frank & Eileen’s Italian Performance Linen (50% Cotton, 48% Linen, 2% Elastane) and is just cut perfectly.

The waistband doesn’t dig and sits just at the waist beautifully (I went up a size as I typically do in shorter skirts) and the length is just long enough to feel comfortable in but short enough to be flirty (anyone else always think of “30, flirty and thriving” when using that word lol. I’m well over 30, but still flirty and getting back to thriving ha.)

Fit: True to size, but I size up 1 in shorter skirts.

Fabric: 50% Cotton, 48% Linen, 2% Elastane

Shoutout to the perfection that is the Eileen Relaxed shirt here, too. I live in this thing and have for months. Again, that well-placed first button is game changing for styling and feeling cute in a button down and the Perfect Denim fabric is soft and lovely and has a worn-in vibe I adore. TTS.

The skirt is also cute with this beautiful Rosie Short Sleeve Button Up Shirt. It’s a lovely boxy cut and in the Italian Classic Linen fabric.
