Twice, Rüfüs Du Sol, Doechii & Marina Top Day 3 of Lollapalooza

By Day Three of Lollapalooza fans have already seen amazing sets from artists of almost every genre. Still, the performances taking place across Grant Park on Saturday, Aug. 2 continued to elevate the experience. Bud Light Stage headliners Twice inspired fans to get in on the action over on the southside of the grounds and Rüfüs Du Sol had everyone dancing over at the T-Mobile Stage. Doechii – a headliner in her own right – Marina, and Naomi Scott – who shared new music on The Grove Stage – also put on unforgettable performances.

Twice, the K-Pop girl-group comprised of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu, stepped onto the Bud Light Stage wearing matching denim outfits as a chorus of cheers welcomed them to their first-ever Lollapalooza. “The Feels,” “Feel Special,” and “This Is For” were all highlights of their setlist.

Rüfüs Du Sol may have been billed as the headliners of the T-Mobile Stage, but Doechii truly stole the show by taking fans to her School of Hip-Hop and sharing lessons on flow, scratching, and much more.

“Now, before we get started, I want to introduce you to one more student. Can you make some noise for DJ Miss Milan, darling,” said Doechii, surrounded by dancers dressed for a school-day, before starting class and sharing wisdom passed down from the greats like Doug E. Fresh.

The set was dominated by songs from 2024’s Alligator Bites Never Heal including “STANKA POOH,” “BULLFROG,” and “BOILED PEANUTS.” The Florida rapper was flawless throughout the performance and her unbelievable, fast flow was best spotlighted on “NISSAN ALTIMA.”

Along with her many talents, Doechii also spotlighted her sense of humor, at one point having her dancers obscure her with a collection of umbrellas in a cheeky reference to her viral Met Gala moment. When the umbrellas pulled away, it was revealed that JT from City Girls was on hand to join Doechii in performing “Alter Ego,” creating one of the best dance parties of the set.

“Persuasive” kept the club vibes going and “Anxiety,” – which highlighted Doechii’s gift for singing – “Denial Is a River,” and “Boom Bap” were also unforgettable. Before the set was over, Doechii announced that she would be heading out on a headlining tour and thanked her dancers and the “incredible DJ, Miss Milan.” A recording left fans with one final lesson from Doechii’s school of hip-hop.

“If I can leave you all with one lesson it’s this,” a voice said over the massive sound system. “Every master was first a student, but once you become a master always remain a student.”

Earlier in the day, Marina hosted a dance party of the electropop variety and even took time out to share new music.

“Okay, so I have a question for you. I’m about to play a song that I haven’t played before. It’s called, ‘Everybody Knows I’m Sad.’ I’ve only ever like practiced it once. So do some people know the lyrics,” she asked, before adding, “It’s emo, but it’s a banger.”

Bôa, Young Miko, Clairo, and Chance The Rapper – who was a surprise addition to the Perry’s Stage schedule – were also among the notable performers on Saturday.
