It’s getting to be peak Autumn season in Michigan, my favorite time of year here, which means all the leaves are a golden shade of yellow, red, and orange and starting to fall. And I am always reminded of one of my favorite quotes about this time of year by Amit Ray: “In every change, in every falling leaf, there is some pain, some beauty. And that’s the way new leaves grow.” Stay hopeful, friends.

As for sales, that gorgeous cashmere striped sweater from Banana Republic that was featured in our Fall Style Guide is currently $100 off and I couldn’t pass on that deal, so I bought one for myself. Yay! Also, I am currently on a knee high boot buying binge and bought these gorgeous brown faux suede option by Sarto for $99 (62% off) and these Woodstock Knee High Boot by Steve Madden for only $90 (60% off) to compare and contrast…both at Nordstrom!

Sweater (L) | Cargos (4) | Boots (7) | Jeans (27)

ONE: Gap’s 100% Cotton Cable Knit Sweater + Everlane Cargos + Leona Docs – So I just got in the navy 100% cotton cable knit sweater from Gap and I love it even more than the off-white (which is really saying something). Add in these Everlane utility cargos (also amazing and also on sale) and my trusty Leona Doc Martens, and I’ve got a new go-to everyday fall look.

TWO: Citizens of Humanity Ayla Cropped Jeans – Gah, Citizens of Humanity has really been killing it for me lately. I love their cropped Ayla jeans so much that I also have them in the light-wash (and they are also on sale). Just SO. GOOD. This polka dot Open Edit top is not on sale but is under $70 and is the perfect fall blouse. Check out those bell cuffs.

Hey, Friday. I hope everyone has had a good week. Mine has been full of a few big milestones in my next era of life and while they’re a bit heavy they also make me really hopeful for the future. This summer I came across the statement “what is meant for me will not miss me” and it has been so comforting for looking forward. I also have enjoyed a couple of episodes of the podcast “Sappy Hour” if you need something inspiring and calming to listen to like I have. Xo

Sales are looking pretty fab this weekend. The Adidas Gazelle Bold platform sneakers I’m wearing everyday right now are on sale in some fun brights. They’re perfect with my full length and baggy jeans to give me a little lift…and they’re SO comfy. This colorblock sweater from Vince on sale at Nordstrom is super cute and under $50. Ooh and this high low v neck option is really freaking cute and on sale, too.

Trench (10) | Leggings (M)

ONE: The stunning J.Crew New Icon Trench I adore is 30% off right now (you have to login and click the box “apply to bag.”) If you need a trench this is the one. It’s so beautifully made and high quality, especially for the price range. And I just recently tried a few more that all fell flat in comparison. TTS but size up if between or if you have wider shoulders. SO freaking good. I had it for years and recently updated my size. It even has a removable hood which most I’ve tried do not.

TWO: My favorite drawstring leggings ever are on sale, too, at Nordstrom. The Beyond Yoga Space Dye Pocket Midi Leggings are perfection. They are the soft but quality (for years) BY fabric I love, but with the added help of a drawstring to keep them up. On sale in a couple of nice neutral colors and a fun red. TTS.

We have all five kids this weekend and are heading to Boo Bash tonight. There’s a costume parade for kids and pets, and I’m pretty sure Harper and Ozzie (the youngest—both 7) can’t wait to dress Berkley (our puppy) up and walk her around. Plus, free ice cream—so basically the perfect night. I’m still debating whether to try to dress cute or just layer up under my Care Bear costume. They told me I was crazy when I bought it, but that thing has more than paid for itself—it’s basically my Halloween parka at this point.

But if I did decide to go the cute route, this heated poncho (yes, heated!) might be perfect. I mean, it’s worth clicking the link just to see the ridiculously obvious AI images, BUT…faux fur? Heated? Portable? YES. (30% off too!) Also—this “Hairy Crop Jacket” is so cute. Great stand-up collar, awful name, over 30% off. Finally, this cashmere scarf (so soft!) comes in a ton of colors and is on sale for under $100 ($55 off!).

trench (xs) | bag | jeans (29) | cardigan (s, more colors at Nordstrom)

ONE: Both this Cropped Trench from CAMI NYC and this suede bag from Staud are 30% off — and they’re so good for fall. I love the trench’s cropped length, especially with high-rise jeans — it still shows off the waist and layers perfectly. And the bag? Such a unique shape, and it’s over $100 off right now. I love love love the color and patchwork suede detail.

TWO: These Palazzo jeans from Good American have been favorites for a while, but the new SoftTech stretch fabric takes them to another level — still that leg-lengthening, waist-defining fit I love, just way comfier. (30% off!)

Heyyy-oh, we’ve finally entered fall weather in this part of the country! My toes are chilly as I type! I smelled my neighbor’s cozy fire from the chimney the other morning! Football Sunday is about to get a whole ‘notha level of good.

& now that I can finally wear jeans without sweating I’m looking at all the new styles, including this shockingly good under $50 pair I just ordered. I’m already thinking about Christmas because we plan to get a new faux tree this year (last year’s fresh-from-the-farm was a pine needle disaster with our cats, and we immediately regretted it) but there’s TOOOO many options so we keep procrastinating by skipping straight to ornaments (how gorgeous are these?!). This will also probs be my last reminder to order PJ’s, if that’s your thing, cause sizes are already disappearing in the good prints. Xx

jeans (run big!) | jeans (28 Tall)

ONE: I just exchanged these jeans for a size down because they run pretty big, but they are easily the coolest “wide leg” jeans ever. Most wide-legs skew too polished on me, not my style, but these have an easy, baggy, off-duty factor that I LOVE. Extra long, too!

TWO: On the flip side, these jeans fit but run a smidge tight, so I just exchanged for a size up (lol this is why we always have to try things on!!). A longtime fave pair of mine, but this new subtle zebra wash is easily the coolest thing to happen to my wardrobe this season.

Happy Friday beautiful people! I am in DC for the next week and am excited to explore more of the city. I’ve been here a lot this year, because my bf lives here, and what’s wild to me is that it’s quite calm in comparison to other major cities that are being affected by our current administration. Anyways, it’s definitely chilly here and I’ll be wearing all my new fall layers. I am still on the hunt for a new pair of fall Uggs or Mou boots, and whoa are the Ugg styles and prices incredible at Nordstrom Rack right now! Love these… oh and these too! XX – Kat

jacket (xxl) | hoodie (l) | sweats (l)

ONE: My love for cowprint runs deep! I bought multiple cow print jackets this fall, and this gorgeous Bernardo jacket was the winner of them all. My only regret is that I didn’t pack it with me for this chilly DC weather.

TWO: Gahhh these sweats and matching hoodie are on major sale right now! Like you can’t beat $36 for cool sweats. And if youre a philly local then you really are going to want these, the graphics say Philadelphia tennis club on them.

We’re hosting dear friends for pumpkin carving this weekend – a tradition since Lana was just a babe – and cooking up something autumnal to go alongside. Chili always feels right, but I might mix things up a bit this year. Pumpkin curry too on the nose? Or maybe a lentil soup situation, with pesto grilled cheese for dunking. Feeling very grateful that this is my most pressing decision at the moment. That and whether to tuck into another episode of Yellowstone (I’m late to the game, but that show is a trip) or catch up on The Golden Bachelor tonight. Anything to avoid the news.

Moving onto sales: I think I put these in a past sales report, but now they’re extra 40% off and the extra volume (are they pants or a skirt??) tricks my brain into thinking they’ll give the impression of effort. Love. So far, this is truly the only cow print anything I’ve been tempted to buy. And trust me when I say, you’d wear these more than you think. (I have a similar pair in both ivory and leopard and they’re such a classic shape and height.)

cream | necklace

ONE: Hi, I know this is just a photo of my face BUT it’s a photo of my face since using this medicube jelly cream stuff that’s basically like the extra goop that comes off those amazing collagen masks – but like a big ol’ tub of it, haha. I put on a thin layer (honestly, just a dab’ll do ya) over all my active serums at night and it locks ‘em in and gives you the dewiest, long-lasting glow. Under $20 right now for what feels like a HUGE, forever-lasting tub of it.

TWO: All these gorgeous layering necklaces (and yes, they are actually separate necklaces), one crazy sale price. As in, $42, usually $88. I’m partial to the “pearl.”
